CSA Week 3; Thanks to an AMAZING Farm Crew!

Greetings from Sweetland

Last night’s rain was a welcome drink for the plants, and now with the grass up to Fern’s armpits and a string of sunny days in the forecast we are ready to start haying. (Hence this late newsletter!) As we turn the corner into June the farm pace ratchets up — with plants going into the ground lickety split, weeds popping up like crazy, the harvest quantity increasing, and hay to mow, ted, rake, bale, and stack in the barn. I’d like to give a big shout-out to our farm crew this week as they gear up for a busy month ahead! We are so lucky to have this crack crew of dedicated farmers on our team. Each day I hear shouts of laughter emanating from the transplanter, witness acts of kindness and support on hot and rainy days alike, and see nods of understanding when I warn that it’s going to be a busy day of chores. So, many thanks this week (and always) to Emily, Zach, Cory, Dale, Kemor, Nataniel, Shelagh, Steve, Nathan, Mia, Kim, Chris, Fern, and all the other helpers.
Cheers
Norah
