oday’s snow is the perfect end to our Winter CSA season. Last night as I wrote end of season cards to the farm crew by the woodstove I noted the beauty of our cyclical work. Each season is a flurry of planting, weeding, harvesting, worrying, and problem solving. Many things go right, many things go sideways, some things go wrong. Sometimes it feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day, even if we wish the day would come to an end. But at the end of each season, no matter what, we turn the crops under and watch as the fields are blanketed with snow. The winter rest is good for the soil and the soul, and we all come back with renewed vigor and a clean slate in the spring.
Thanks to all of you for joining our winter CSA and sharing our bounty with your family and friends. Let’s say a collective goodbye to a crazy 2025 and ring in the new year with resolutions for strong community, care of the environment, and modeling of peace and resilience. I hope we’ll see you in our farm stand throughout the winter, and that spring greens dance in your dreams while the gardens sleep. See you in the new year!
Cheers,
Norah and the Sweetland Crew
